What's in store for 2020

I’d like to wish all my clients & friends a happy New Year, and to thank you all for helping to make 2019 the best year yet for JS O’Connor Photography. I have never been busier, and as the year kicks off, it’s high time to look at what 2020 has in store for me.

More ways to use 3D scanning, modeling and rendering

Spaces scanned with the Matterport camera can now be built into full 3D models viewable in Autodesk Revit or similar CAD software.

Pre-build renderings based on actual site photos and architectural plans are also new for 2020. With a basic set of architectural plans, we’ll build your house (virtually)

Additional virtual staging applications

For soon-to-be finished and empty spaces, virtual staging can help get a property on the market earlier than waiting until everything is complete. We handle all the design elements too. There’s no interior decorating skills required, and we can even work with existing furniture.

More in the outdoors

The Hardest day in Maine poster (vert).jpg

2019 saw a large rise in the demand for custom video work, and I expect that video will continue to be a growing part of my business in 2020. I have also gotten a lot of positive feedback on my film from last year, “The Hardest Day in Maine” which just earned its third festival selection. If you’re ambitious and like adventure films, you can see it on the big screen at the Auburn Adventure Film Festival in Tacoma, WA, February 21-23.

My next big film project involves documenting a 36 hour race in the Pennsylvania Wilds, and I’m really looking forward to it. The race will be the biggest one I’ve filmed so far, and the field is stacked: 150+ of the best adventure racers from the US and Canada. I’ll be there every hour of the race following along with the elite teams to capture the team stories as they face the rigors of a race that does not stop for a day and a half.

Strong Machine Adventure Racing

I’m proud to announce that I’ll be teaming up with Strong Machine Adventure Racing as a captain of their development team help develop the sport of adventure racing. I have been filming adventure races since 2016 and started competing in them shortly thereafter. Working between Maine, Pennsylvania and Vermont, I competed in three races in 2019 and filmed one more. With a good deal of training under my belt, I have a few more races on my calendar for 2020 - as a participant in some, and media for others.

A nonprofit organization based in Portland, Maine, Strong Machine Adventure Racing’s purpose is to offer events that foster responsible use and enjoyment of the outdoors.
